SEATTLE, WA - April 28th, 2009
GoMobile® Advertising, a nationally recognized and award-winning mobile billboard advertising and experiential marketing company has won top prize, the coveted EX Award in their category at the 2009 national competition. The nod comes just weeks after a Gold ADDY® Award win in the American Advertising Federation's regional competition, where they will compete at nationals in early May. GoMobile Advertising took first place at the EX Awards in the vehicle design category for their work with Miller Chill, creating two mobile Cuban lounges designed to promote the salt and lime-infused beverage to the public last summer.
"Winning the EX Award is especially thrilling for us because the contest is judged by our colleagues in the brand marketing and event industry," said Chris Schuler, President of GoMobile® Advertising. "It's an honor to be recognized amongst companies of this magnitude for our work with Miller Chill and we look forward to generating this same type of excitement again and again for our clients."
GoMobile® Advertising's winning campaign, designed to introduce Miller Chill to the Seattle and Portland markets while increasing engagement time, featured two identical multimedia vehicles that were transformed into complete Cuban beach lounges. The nightclubs were showcased through the vehicles' transparent walls and were complete with palm trees, sandy beach floors, standing bars with thatched roofs, seating areas with sun umbrellas, patio lighting, and buckets of ice-cold Miller Chill. Cuban music blasted through six-speaker sound-systems to complete the vibe. The vehicles were completely wrapped in the Miller Chill brand and also utilized scrolling mobile billboards to further familiarize the public with the product. A Merit Award Winner at the 2007 OBIE’s, GoMobile® President Chris Schuler was thrilled to win one of the advertising industry’s oldest and most prestigious awards. “It was an honor and a victory for us as a company and the mobile advertising industry,” Said Schuler. “We were the only mobile outdoor advertising company nominated.”

Conceived in May 2006, the IKEA mobile living room concept was taken to the streets for the 2007 catalog drop. “We are very pleased with the response that IKEA has received to our GoMobile® promotion for IKEA Catalog 2007,” said Carol Merry, Advertising Manager for IKEA. “This has been one of our most successful catalog promotions and GoMobile® has been a big contributor to that success. The fact that we were Merit Award winners in our category is a win in itself.”
ABOUT THE OBIE AWARD
The OBIE Award is the oldest-and certainly among the most sought after-honors for creative excellence in the world of advertising. The award itself is modeled after the obelisks of ancient Egypt, tall stone structures that were used to publicize laws and treaties. The obelisk is often considered the first true form of outdoor advertising. The OBIE Award is outdoor advertising’s greatest honor and rightly so. It recognizes excellence in the medium some call the most difficult to create for. The OBIE is great outdoor, the benchmark by which all creative is measured, the visual guideline to emulate.
